Guntersville Bass Guides Welcomes Laker Howell to the Team
Guntersville, Alabama — August 22, 2025
Guntersville Bass Guides is proud to announce that Laker Howell, one of bass fishing’s top young pros, is joining our guide roster. Fresh off a Bassmaster Open win on Leech Lake, Laker brings big-stage poise, modern electronics mastery, and a winning pedigree to Lake Guntersville.
A Proven Name on Guntersville
Laker continues the Howell family legacy—his father, Randy Howell, famously won the 2014 Bassmaster Classic on Lake Guntersville. That championship DNA, paired with Laker’s own momentum, makes this a natural fit for anglers booking guided trips on North Alabama’s most storied bass fishery.
“Laker and I have talked about guiding over the years, and this season our conversations lined up in a way neither of us expected. My idea was to invite him to join the team so he could focus on fishing without worrying about the business and advertising. Before his Bassmaster Open win, he reached out with the same idea—asking if we could work something out. Of course, the answer was yes. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Guntersville Bass Guides family.”
